	Prof. Katsushi Arisaka Ultra High Energy Cosmic Ray Experiment
	The Particle astrophysics group at UCLA, led by Prof. Katsushi Arisaka is actively involved in the Ultra High Energy Cosmic Ray (UHECR) experiment, called Pierre-Auger Project (http://www.auger.org/). An REU student is expected to work on its data analysis, using the advanced computing technologies. Prof. Arisaka has also begun a new detector development for Dark Matter search, using liquid Xenon. An REU student will also have an opportunity to participate in this detector R&D.
