	Prof. Katsushi Arisaka Dark Matter Search
	The particle astrophysics group at UCLA, led by Prof. Katsushi Arisaka, is actively involved in new experiments to search for the Dark Matter, using liquid Xenon. The new detector, called LUX (Large Underground Xenon), will be under construction in Summer 2008. An REU student is expected to work on both hardware construction as well as computer simulation for the LUX. At the same time, a student will participate on development of the large-scale future experiment called XAX (Xenon-Argon-Xenon).
