Prof. Eric Hudson Construction of a Laser System for the Detection and Cooling of Polar Molecular Ions |
|
Our research focuses on the study of quantum information and metrology. Towards these goals, we are developing and implementing methods for trapping ultra-cold polar molecular ions, a promising quantum computation architecture. This project would familiarize the student with the technique of laser cooling as well as solid-state diode lasers. The student would also assist the PI and postdoctoral researcher in the assembly of a molecular ion trapping experiment. | |
