Studies of Luminescence from Laser-induced Bubbles in Liquids
Current studies are investigating bubbles in alcohols and other organic liquids at room temperature, and plans are to cool these samples to as low as -150 C to see if the weak room-temperature luminescence is improved at low temperatures where the vapor pressure is reduced. The duration of the luminescence pulse will also be studied as a function of temperature and hydrostatic pressure on the liquids.
